ViennaPhotoBookFestival has firmly asserted itself as a successful event among the European photobook community. The initial idea of offering a market place for independent publishers and dealers in rare photobooks, with small publishers and artists and their elaborately and affectionately designed photobooks as the main focus, will remain the keystone of the upcoming 4th edition of ViennaPhotoBookFestival on 11 and 12 June 2016.

Vienna has established itself as the ideal festival location, linking Western and Eastern Europe. Moreover, the Festival is the first to offer students a space for presenting themselves and their works on the photobook market. Already numerous publications have derived from this opportunity.

A program (in progress) of talks and events by renowned practitioners from the photobook scene will again complement the Festival.

Lecturer: Magnum photographers Chien-Chi Chang and Carolyn Drake, Thomas Sauvin, preserver of Chinese vernacular photography and photobook maker, British photo critics David Campany and Gerry Badger, Corinne Noordenbos, former head of the photography class at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Dutch photographer Bertien van Manen, Slovakian photographer Martin Kollar and Austrian photographer Stefanie Moshammer will share their knowledge and experiences during intriguing lectures and discussions with the audience.

3rd ViennaPhotoBookReview: 30 photographers will have the chance to present their photobook dummy to 15 experts on 10 June 2016. Please get in touch with Tanja Ehrenreich at for further information.
