is Europe’s largest festival focusing on the photo book, initiated by Anzenberger Gallery and OstLicht. Gallery for Photography. It takes place for the third time this year, on June 20 and 21, 2015 at Brotfabrik Wien. Due to the festival’s cooperation with Superar and Photon Gallery, more than 1,000 m² will be available for the 80 participating international booksellers.
The American star photographer William Klein has agreed for the first time to give a lecture in Austria. Additional international lecturers include Colin Pantall (photobook critic, UK), Michael Mack (star publisher, UK), Olivia Arthur (Magnum photographer, UK), Nicolo Degiorgis (author of Hidden Islam, IT) Ania Nalecka (photobook designer, PL) and INTAC, Walter Bergmoser and Peter Sramek (International Art Collaboration). The collectors Michel Auer (CH), Manfred Heiting (US), Gerry Badger (UK) and Andreas H. Bitesnich (AT) will participate in a panel discussion on “Collecting Photobooks”.
With the ViennaPhotoBookReview, which had its successful launch last year and will be continued this year, and given the participation of far more than twenty universities offering studies in photography all over Europe, the ViennaPhotoBookFestival has established itself as one of the most important settings for the discovery of young talent.
